Code of Conduct

Last updated: April 27, 2026

forg is a community for builders who build in public. To keep it worth building in, we ask everyone to follow these standards.

The short version

forg is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender and gender identity, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion (or lack thereof). We do not tolerate harassment of community members in any form. Sexual language and imagery are never appropriate. Accounts found to be violating these rules may be suspended permanently.

We also strongly discourage inaccurate information on your forg profile. Your profile is your proof-of-work — keep it honest.

The detailed version

Behavior that builds a great community

  • Using welcoming and inclusive language
  • Referring to people by their preferred pronouns and using gender-neutral pronouns when uncertain
  • Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences
  • Gracefully accepting constructive criticism
  • Focusing on what is best for the community as a whole
  • Showing empathy toward other members

Behavior that is not acceptable

  • The use of sexualized language or imagery, and unwelcome sexual attention or advances
  • Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks
  • Public or private harassment
  • Publishing someone else's private information — such as a physical or electronic address — without their explicit permission
  • Other conduct that could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting
  • Dismissing or attacking inclusion-oriented requests

Profile integrity

Your profile is your builder identity. Do not put inaccurate information on your forg profile. Specifically:

  • Profile Picture: A professional headshot or portrait photo is recommended. Anything obscene will lead to profile suspension.
  • Display Name: Use your real name or the name you're genuinely known by. Do not use your company name, role title, emojis, or promotional text in your name field.
  • Bio: Keep it honest, professional, and concise.
  • Products: Only list products you have actually built or meaningfully contributed to.

Product and update integrity

  • Only post updates about products you own or are actively contributing to.
  • Do not fabricate metrics (users, revenue, etc.) in updates.
  • Do not use forg updates as spam or self-promotional blasts unrelated to your actual building journey.
